Aadhaar Card for Children

Unlike Voter ID cards, where teenagers of 18 years or more are only eligible to apply, Aadhaar card can be applied by even a newborn infant. Aadhaar enrolment process for kids and adults is similar, except a few differences such as:

  1. Biometric data will not be captured for children below 5 years of age.

  2. After the child turns 5 and 15, the parents must take care of updating the biometrics (fingerprints, iris scan) and photo.

  3. A unique identification ID will be generated for the child based on the demographic data linked with the UID of parents.

  4. For a child who is below 5 years, the parents or guardians need to mention their details in the enrolment form for applying.
