Popular Festivals/Holidays in West Bengal

West Bengal is known for its myriad festival. Whether a religious festival or a secular one, whether it is a festival of one's own religion or of other religions – the people of West Bengal celebrate it all. Durga Puja is the biggest festival in this state which is celebrated for ten days with much pomp and show. Naba Barsha is the Bengali New Year, celebrated in mid-April. There are various Hindu ceremonies and Islamic festivals celebrated here. West Bengal also grandly celebrates birth anniversaries of great souls like Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda.
