About Chhattisgarh

The Indian state of Chhattisgarh was formed in 2000. The area was earlier a part of Madhya Pradesh. The name of the state means 36 forts. Around 25 million residents live in Chhattisgarh and Hindi is the widely used language. The landscape of the state comprises hilly areas as well as fertile lands. Popular Festivals/Holidays in Chhattisgarh

All the popular Indian festivals are celebrated in this state. Goddess Danteswari is worshipped during Bastar Dussehra, which is celebrated with much vigor and enthusiasm. The Lokotsav is organized during the end of the rainy season, to promote the folk culture of the state. The Madai festival, the Rajim Kumbh Mela and the Pakhanjore Mela are other intrinsic festivals of Chhattisgarh.
