A country-wide Passport Seva Camp was set up on 18th October 2016. The main aim of this camp is to provide passport-related services to people who live quite far from the Passport Seva Kendras and to increase the citizens' convenience. The initiative was approved by the then External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj. The MEA plans on organizing such Camps periodically across India.
