How to link PAN with Bank Account

Bank Account can be linked with PAN via two methods: online or offline. You can follow the steps described below to link PAN details with your bank account.

How to link PAN with bank account via offline mode

  1. Visit your Home Branch
  2. Ask for PAN card updation form (KYC form) in the bank
  3. Fill up the form
  4. Attach photocopy of PAN card updation form, self-attested photocopy of PAN and a letter addressed to the Branch Manager regarding PAN card updation

How to link PAN via online mode

Follow these steps to apply for PAN card online

  1. Linking PAN with Bank Account through Phone
    1. Call the Bank’s customer care
    2. When you’re connected to the customer executive, tell them that you wish to link your PAN details with your bank account
    3. You’ll be asked to provide details like your bank account number, ATM card number, residential address to verify your identity
    4. Tell them your PAN, when requested

    1. Enter your login ID and password to login to your internet banking account
    2. Click on ‘service options’
    3. Click on ‘PAN card updation
    4. You’ll be required to enter your PAN card number, date of birth and email ID
    5. Your PAN will be linked to your bank account within 2 working days

Linking PAN with SBI bank account

There are two methods by which you can link your PAN with SBI bank account.

Online mode of linking PAN Follow these steps to link your PAN with SBI bank account-

  1. Visit https://www.onlinesbi.com/
  2. Login to the net banking portal by providing your username and password
  3. Select ‘e-services’
  4. Click on the ‘PAN registration form’ option
  5. Enter your profile password to be redirected to PAN registration page
  6. Select transactions accounts
  7. Enter registered mobile number and PAN details
  8. Click on submit
  9. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on submit.

You can visit your SBI home branch and fill up the PAN card updation form in order to link PAN details to your SBI account via offline mode.

Linking PAN with ICICI Bank account

Follow these steps to link PAN with your ICICI bank account online-

  1. Visit the official net banking page of ICICI bank
  2. Log in using your user ID and password
  3. Select ‘service requests’
  4. Click on ‘PAN card updation’
  5. Provide your PAN card number, date of birth and registered email ID
  6. Your bank account will be linked with your ICICI bank account within 2 working days

In order to link your PAN details with ICICI bank account manually, you need to visit your ICICI Home Branch and fill up the PAN card updation form/KYC form

Linking PAN with HDFC Bank account

Online mode of linking PAN details with HDFC bank account

  1. Visit the official net banking page of ICICI bank
  2. Log in using your user ID and password
  3. Select ‘service requests’
  4. Click on ‘PAN card updation’
  5. Provide your PAN card number, date of birth and registered email ID
  6. Your bank account will be linked with your ICICI bank account within 2 working days

In order to link your PAN details with ICICI bank account manually, you need to visit your ICICI Home Branch and fill up the PAN card updation form/KYC form

  1. Visit HDFC Internet Banking website
  2. Login using your HDFC netbanking credentials
  3. On the left side of the webpage, there’s a ‘request’ option
  4. Click on ‘Request’
  5. Enter your PAN number
  6. Select continue
  7. A confirmation message will be received on your registered mobile number
  8. Your PAN details will be linked to your HDFC bank account within the prescribed time

To link your PAN details with HDFC bank account, you need to visit your HDFC home branch, fill the PAN updation form/KYC form and submit it in the branch.

Linking PAN with PNB bank account

  1. Visit PNB internet banking website
  2. Enter your login ID and password to login to your internet banking account
  3. Click on ‘service options’
  4. Click on ‘PAN card updation
  5. You’ll be required to enter your PAN card number, date of birth and email ID
  6. Your PAN will be linked to your bank account within 2 working days

Visit your PNB home branch and submit the PAN updation form in order to link PAN with your HDFC bank account through offline mode

Linking PAN with Kotak Mahindra Bank account

It is important for Kotak Mahindra Bank account owner to link their PAN details with their bank account since the account-owner will not be able to avail many benefits provided by Kotak Mahindra Bank if their PAN is not linked with their bank account. The main reason for linking PAN with your Kotak Mahindra Bank account is that an individual won’t be able to avail the TDS certificate, and hence, would be unable to file for income tax online if their PAN isn’t linked with their bank account

Linking PAN with Canara Bank account

It is necessary to link PAN with your Canara Bank Account because failure to do so, would make the account holder ineligible for downloading the TDS certificate/form 16.

You can link your PAN details with Canara Bank Account by visiting your home branch and submitting the PAN updation form/KYC form along with the relevant documents to the branch manager.

Linking PAN with OBC Bank Account

  1. Visit you OBC Bank Home Branch
  2. Ask for PAN card updation form (KYC form) in the bank
  3. Fill up the form
  4. Attach a photocopy of the PAN card updation form, self-attested photocopy of PAN, a letter addressed to the Branch Manager regarding PAN card updation

  1. Visit the official net banking page of Axis Bank
  2. Login using your user ID and password
  3. Select ‘service requests’
  4. Click on ‘PAN card updation’
  5. Provide your PAN card number, date of birth and registered email ID
  6. Your bank account will be linked with your Axis bank account within 2 working days

Or else, you can visit your Axis Bank Home Branch and submit the PAN card updation form/KYC form to the branch manager along with the required documents.

How to apply for Passport by using PAN card

The Ministry of External Affairs has made it easier for passport applicants to acquire passport within a week, in case of emergency.
