Trichy or Tiruchirappalli is a tier II city in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the fourth largest city in the state and also the headquarter of Tiruchirappalli District. It is divided into 60 wards for its current administration with a wide and diverse population of more than 9 lakh. Trichy is located at the geographic center of Tamil Nadu and in the vicinity of River Cauverys delta region. The city has a rich religious history and is an ancient region with a lot of cultural significance. Tiruchirappalli is a major hub for engineering equipment manufacturing and fabrication. The economy of the city is driven by trade and small-scale industries in textile manufacturing. The densely populated city of Trichy is encompassed by agricultural fields where finger millets, paddy and maize are cultivated. The city is also known for its tanneries, oil presses and cigar-manufacturing units. Trichy is a celebrated center for education. The city boasts of its 45 arts and science colleges, 40 polytechnic colleges apart from institutes of great repute such as NIT Trichy, IIIT Trichy, Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Anna University Tiruchirappalli, etc. Major tourist spots in the city include Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Rock Fort Temple, Jambukeswarar Temple, St. Lourdes Church, Kallanai Dam, etc. Trichy is considered to be the third cleanest city in India preceded by Chandigarh and Mysore.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
