Ghaziabad is a well-known city which is often called the “Gateway of Uttar Pradesh” due to its proximity to the capital city of India, New Delhi. Ghaziabad is a part of the National Capital Region and is inhabited by more than 2 million people. Wazir Ghazi-ud-din founded Ghaziabad in 1740. He named it ‘Ghaziuddinnagar’ after himself. The Mughal royal family would visit Ghaziabad for picnics, especially in the areas near the Hindon river. The Hindon river clearly divides the city into two parts – the Cis-Hindon on the east bank and the Trans-Hindon on the west. Ghaziabad is a huge and planned industrial city and it is the main educational, commercial and industrial center of Western Uttar Pradesh. Ghaziabad witnessed a gigantic industrial growth soon after independence. Steel manufacturing units were the first to be set up in the area, followed by electronic industries. Many major industrial houses quickly followed in setting up their units in and around Ghaziabad. A rapidly developing city, plenty of new job opportunities have recently opened up in Ghaziabad owing to its recent corporate boost. Many new commercial and residential projects are being set up in the city, gradually turning Ghaziabad into a real estate hub.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
