Ranchi is the capital city of Jharkhand. This Indian city was made the the state capital when Jharkhand state was formed in 2000. Ranchi is one among the hundred cities selected to be developed as smart cities. Jharkhand has a large base for mining and industrial ores, and thus Ranchi gets a premier status in its trade and export. Since it is the capital city of the state, Ranchi has the civic administration which employs a host of the citys residents. The lush green forests cover the region which hosts numerous waterfalls - Hudru, Jonha, Dassam, Hirni, Panchghagh are few to name. Thus Ranchi is often called the "city of waterfalls." The city is rich in mineral resources which drive the economy of the city. The major industrial sectors that dot its landscape include mining, engineering, furniture, paper, rayon, etc. which are further developed by public and private sector industries such as Central Coalfields, Heavy Engineering Corporation, SAIL, Marine Diesel Engine Project, etc. The educational hub in the city is led by institutions like the Ranchi University, IIM, NIFFT, XISS, etc. For a tourist or visitor, Ranchi offers a plethora of attractions which include its famous waterfalls as well as places like Gonda hills rock garden, Jaggannathpur temple, Nakshatra Van, etc.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
