The city of Raichur is located between Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers in the Indian state of Karnataka. The city houses around 2 lakh residents. Although Kannada is the main language of Raichur, Telugu and Urdu are also widely spoken. Raichur is known for its imposing Raichur Fort which was built in 1294. The fort contains stone inscriptions in Persian and Arabic that adds to its rich history. The had been a part of various empires including the Bahmanis, the Vijayanagara Empire and the Hyderabad empire. The city is also very rich from the epigraphical perspective. Hundreds of inscriptions have been found in the area, ranging from the Mauryan period till the Muslim period, belonging to almost every dynasty that ruled over the Decan. These inscriptions are in a variety of languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Arabic, Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Persian. There are gold mines surrounding the city of Raichur that vastly contribute to the economy of the city. The city is also a leading producer of cotton and oil.

Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
