Pimpri-Chinchwad, the twin city of Pune, is an industrial city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city witnessed rapid industrialization in the 1960s which developed the city into an industrial zone. Hindustan Antibiotics Limited or HAL, a public sector drug manufacturing company run by the Indian government, was the first one to set up at Pimpri-Chinchwad in 1954, giving a great start to the industrial development of the city. This city is often referred to as the "Detroit of the East" owing to its large number of industrial units that have crossed 4000 in number. This city has factories of TATA Motors, Mahindra, Bajaj Auto and many more. Various other automobile companies have set up their manufacturing units in Pimpri-Chinchwad. There are many other small as well as large-scale companies and heavy industries in the area that have opened up innumerable job opportunities in this city. The place that was earlier home to Marathi families found a lot of multi-ethnic and multi-lingual people from all over the country migrating to Pimpri-Chinchwad in search of employment. Schools, colleges, healthcare and entertainment facilities have opened up to support the lifestyle of the citys growing population. The city is well connected to Pune and other neighboring suburbs and is eagerly awaiting the Pune-Pimpri-Chinchwad Metro services expected to be operational in 2021.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
