Morena is located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the Chambal division of the state and houses the administrative headquarters of the Morena district. The area was once notorious for dacoits, who terrorized the residents and plundered everything. It has now become a safer place and its 3 lakh residents can peacefully live their lives in the city. Many industrial units have been set up at Morena and the place has gained importance in terms of business and commerce. Located in the basin of the Chambal River, Morena has a tract of rich alluvial soil in some areas where wheat and oilseeds are widely cultivated. Morena has some quarries for building stones. There are forest areas which are inhabited by peacocks. The city is known for its sweets - Gajak is a traditional sweet made of sesame and jaggery and manufactured at Morena during winter; Malpua, made of flour and jaggery, is another delicious sweet that Morena is known for. Tourism is a major economic source in this city. The areas worth visiting in and around Morena are National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary, Pahargarh cave paintings, Sabalgarh Fort, Sersaini Fort, Jain Temples and various Hindu temples.

Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
