Khandwa is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a Nagar Nigam in the Nimar region of the state. It also functions as the administrative headquarter of the Khandwa District. An ancient city, Khandwa has many places of worship for Hindus and Jains. The city used to be a center of Jainism during the 12th century. During the British era, Khandwa became the main commercial center of the Nimar region. Khandwa is known for the cultivation of local crops such as cotton, wheat and soybean along with an assortment of seasonal vegetables and fruits. The city grows a special variety of wheat known as Khandwa2, which is famous all over the country for its aroma, color and quality. A hydropower project by the name of Indira Sagar Pariyojna is located in the vicinity of Khandwa. A few other industries in the region include Nepa paper mills, Mansingka oil mills and Nimar textiles. The four Kunds, namely Padam Kund, Suraj Kund, Bheem Kund and Rameshwar Kund, located in four corners of the city, adds to the fame of the city. The famous tourist places in Khandwa are Dada Darbar Khandwa, Turja Bhavani Temple and Nagchun Talab. Hanumantiya Island at Khandwa is a an adventurous place for water sports in the backwaters of Indira Sagar Dam.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
