Jamnagar, situated in the western Indian state of Gujarat, is the fifth largest city in the state and also the administrative capital of Jamnagar district. The city has plenty of nicknames. It is also known as ?Brass city? for its largest production of Brass items in India. The city is also nicknamed as ?Oil city? for hosting the world?s largest oil refinery of Reliance Industries. Jamnagar is divided into 21 wards and subzones for an effective administration. The economy of the city is mainly sourced from its mining industries. Jamnagar is the home of Reliance Industries and petrochemicals, which obviously boosts the citys economic growth. Jamnagar has huge reserves of bauxite. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
