Jabalpur is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Earlier known as Jubbulpore, this city is often referred to as the Marble City of India. It is the third-largest urban agglomeration in Madhya Pradesh as well as the administrative headquarters of Jabalpur District. As the Kalchuri and Rajgond dynasties had ruled over the city, Jabalpur exhibits a mixed culture of the Mughal and the Maratha rule. Gandhiji had stayed in the city for a long time before the Indian independence and had started the Swadesh, Swaraj and Sathyaghra here. Jabalpur city is divided into 79 wards to initiate smooth civic administration. Commercial crops such as pulses, oilseeds, cotton, sugar cane and a few medicinal crops are grown in Jabalpur. The economic growth of the city is principally based on agriculture and also on arms and ammunition industries. Other major industries in the city include garment manufacturing, glassware, electrical goods, limestone products and building materials. There are quite a few notable educational institutions at Jabalpur. Jabalpur, as a tourist destination, has numerous places to visit. Dhuandhar Falls and Marble Rocks in Bhedaghat are the most popular places frequented by tourists. The Pench National Park, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Dumna Nature Reserve Park and Bandhavgarh National Park are the other adventurous tourist destinations in the vicinity of the city.

Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
