Guna is a small city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It functions as the administrative headquarter of the eponymous district. The city lies on the north-eastern regions of Malwa Plateau and is defined by the Parbati river in the west. Guna is an acronym for Gwalior United Nation Army. It was founded by Chand Pradyota Mahesena and was a part of the ancient Avanti Kingdom. It was later added to the growing empire of Magadha. It passed on to the Marathas and to the Kingdom of Gwalior till it was made a part of Madhya Pradesh in 1956. Although Guna is very small and nondescript town, it still functions as an important industrial center with major industries such as National Fertilizers Limited, Gas Authority of India Limited, Deepak Spinners Limited, KS Oil Ltd, Spice park at Mavan, etc. The first private state university of the state is at Guna. The Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology has a sprawling campus in Guna which offers facilities like hostel, mess, laundry, shopping center, medical center, etc. to the 1500+ students. A few places worth visiting in and around Guna are Shri Shanti Nath Digambar Jain temple at Bajrangarh, Bees Bhuja Devi, Kedarnath, Hanuman Tekri, Christ The King Church and Panchmukhi Hanuman Ashram.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
