Gulbarga, also known as by its official name Kalaburagi, is an urban agglomeration situated in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Standing on the banks the Krishna and Bhima rivers, it is one of the most important cities in the state and also the administrative headquarters of Gulbarga District. The current administration of Gulbarga is carried out by representatives elected to service its 55 wards. The economy of Gulbarga is mainly dependent on agriculture. The place is known for the cultivation of Pigeon Peas and Toor Dal. Recently, upon the state governments initiatives, many industries have been set up in and around the city. Gulbarga has units to manufacture cement, textile, leather and chemicals. Gulbarga is the home to many educational institutions like the Karnataka State University, KBN institute of medical sciences and Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences. Gulbarga is well known as a tourist destination as well. There are many temples and forts in the area. Tourist spots such as the Bahmani fort, the Government Museum, the Holkonda fort, the Ferozabad Fort, the Sharanabasaveshwar Temple, Shri Sadguru Dattatreya Narasimha Saraswati, Shri Kshetra Ganagapur, Sri Hulakantheshwar Temple are frequented by tourists.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
