Ghaziabad is a large and developing city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This city comes under the National Capital Region (NCR). Ghaziabad is often referred to as the Gateway to the state of Uttar Pradesh because of its proximity to New Delhi. This fast-growing city has a population of more than 2 million. The city was founded in 1740 by Wazir Ghazi-ud-din. He named it ?Ghaziuddinnagar? after himself. A large area in Ghaziabad, especially the banks of the Hindon river, used to be a picnic spot for the royal family during the Mughal period. The city has two divisions that are separated by the Hindon River: the Trans-Hindon region on the west and the Cis-Hindon region on the east. It has turned into a major industrial and commercial hub of western Uttar Pradesh. The industrial growth in Ghaziabad took off soon after independence when a number of steel manufacturing units opened in the area. Electronics industry followed and a lot more major industrial houses set up their manufacturing units in Ghaziabad.

Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
