Faridabad, the largest city in Haryana, is located very close to the Indian capital city New Delhi. It is an integral part of the National Capital Region (NCR) owing to its proximity to Delhi. Faridabad is an industrial city. The city is spread along the banks of the Yamuna. The city is a thoroughfare for the tourists visiting Vrindavan, Mathura and Agra. The economy of the city is run by a large number of small-scale and medium-scale industries. Faridabad happens to be one of the largest exporters of Henna in India. Various prominent companies have established their headquarters in Faridabad. Many IT Companies and MNCs have established their offices in the city, offering plenty of job opportunities. Faridabad is a massive economic hub in Haryana that generates more than 50% of the income tax for the state government. the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
