The Indian city of Bhavnagar is situated in the western state of Gujarat. It is often called ?Bhavena? by the residents. The city serves as the administrative headquarters of Bhavnagar District which was established by and named after Bhavsinhji Gohil. Bhavnagar city was the former capital of the Bhavnagar princely state, which was later merged into India in 1948. The city is a gateway to the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It has some of the holiest temples of the Jain religion. The economy of this city is primarily industrial in nature. There are a large number of medium and small-scale industries based in the city. Diamond cutting and polishing units, plastics, salt and marine chemicals, shipbuilding and ship-breaking industries are widely popular in the Bhavnagar area. Besides the industrial units, the citys economy also benefits from agriculture. Groundnut, onion, cotton, bajra, guavas and pomegranate and mango are cultivated and traded. The city is known for its version of the traditional Gujarati snack Ganthiya. There are many government-run as well as private educational institutions in this city. Moreover, Bhavnagar attracts quite a lot of religious pilgrims since it is close to the Palitana Jain Temples. Other places like Blackbuck National Park, Takhteshwar Temple, Khodiyar Mandir, Victoria Park, Nilambag Palace Hotel, etc. also attract many tourists.
the Prathama Bank is the first regional rural bank in India, sponsored by the Syndicate Bank in Moradabad district Uttar Pradesh on 2 October 1975. Its stocks of Syndicate Bank are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and Bangalore Stock Exchange. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise. The combinations of Orange, Yellow, Black & White colors make the logo unique. The primary objective of logo repositioning is to provide a more clear understanding of what the organization stands for, earn loyalty from its customers, establishing a brand identity, and also to give the logo a more contemporary look in a continuously changing & dynamic business environment. The bank is hiring approximately 3000 young officers for replacing the officers getting retired. On November 7, 2017, Syndicate Bank created a human chain to spread awareness among the public for fighting with corruption. 14196 financial literacy programmes were organized to promote financial literacy in the villages, during the year 2015, in which 5.74 lakh persons were benefitted. Under PMJDY, the Bank has opened 3496559 number of accounts with a balance of Rs. 505 crore as on 31st March 2015.
