Ahmedabad is the largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat. This former capital of Gujarat is often referred to as "Amdavad" by the natives. The Bank did a partnership with UNEP for initiating successful solar loan program. The solar loan program was launched in April 2003 to promote financing of solar home systems in southern India. The 3 RRBs are sponsored by the Syndicate bank presently, and all are making a profit by generating the total business of Rs.42101 crore with 1348 branches as on 31st March 2015. The Syndicate Bank has repositioned its Logo by changing the color combinations, as a part of the brand building exercise.
