Nellore, situated in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, is also known as Vikrama Simhapuri. The bank was started in Kolkata with an issued capital of ?2 crores and a paid-up capital of ?1 crore. The Board of Directors of UCO Bank included notable personalities of India alongside Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla as its chairman. The bank opened 14 branches simultaneously across India. Presently Mr.Ravi Krishan Takkar is the chairman and MD of UCO Bank.
