Madhyamgram is situated in the Barasat Sadar subdivision of the North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The Vijaya Bank was founded by a group of farmers under the leadership of A. B. Shetty on 23 October 1931, in Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State.
