shahjahanpur is a town, a municipal corporation as well as the district headquarters of the Shahjahanpur District in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The Rosa Thermal Power Plant in the vicinity of the city contributes towards the economy of Shahjahanpur. Crops such as wheat, gram, millet and potatoes are cultivated in Shahjahanpur. In 1962, some branches of Indian Bank were also opened in Burma, Malayan, and Singapore. In 1963, the Burmese government nationalized all foreign banks, including Indian Banks branch.
