Nadiad is a large city in the Kheda district of the Indian state of Gujarat. Nadiad hosts around 2.3 lakh residents who mainly speak in Gujarati and Hindi. It is believed that this city had been a settlement of rope-dancers. The historical name of Nadiad was "Natapadra" which means outskirts of natas (ropes) or "Natpur" which means city of natas. It is also called Nandgam. The city has a special regard for the number 9 as it has nine step wells, nine villages or towns located in it, nine roads that enter and exit the city and nine lakes. Nadiad is also referred to as sakshar Bhumi which means The land of the educated. Nadiad experiences mild winters and very hot summers. Nadiad was the land of laureates and writers during the late 19th century and the early 20th century when the city largely contributed to the Gujarati literature.

The bank had 4,715 branches and 12,260 ATMs across India, as of June 30, 2017. In FY 2017, the bank also installed 4.30 lakhs POS terminals and issued 235.7 lakhs debit cards and 85.4 Lacs credit cards. The HDFC Bank offers many products and services including wholesale banking, treasury, auto loans, two wheeler loans, personal loans, retail banking, loans against property and credit cards. Along with this various digital products are also introduced by HDFC such as Payzapp and Chillr. The HDFC Bank merged with Times Bank in February 2000. In the new-generation private sector banks category, it was the first merger of two private banks. HDFC Bank acquired Centurion Bank in 2008 approved by the HDFC Bank Board for 95.1 billion INR as one of the most significant mergers in the financial sector in India.
