Gwalior is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is also the largest city in the state. It is rapidly developing into a smart city. The city is the administrative headquarter of the Gwalior District, divided into 60 wards for administrative purposes. One of the main concerns of this city is its pollution levels as it has the highest levels of air pollution among all Indian cities. The Maharaj Bada, Ghas Mandi, Loha Mandi and Hazira are centuries old marketplaces with ancient buildings displaying different styles of architecture that still remain in the city, contrasting the modern shopping malls that have recently come up.
the UCO Bank was founded in 1943 in Kolkata. It is a major government-owned and commercial bank of India also known as the United Commercial Bank. Its total business was ? 4.55 lakh crore during FY 2013-14. It was ranked 1860 on Forbes Global 2000 List by 2014 data. According to the Brand Trust Report 2014, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory, the Bank was ranked 294th among Indias most trusted brands. It was a difference of 796 ranks considering its previous position among Indias most trusted brands in the Brand Trust Report 2013. The bank had 4,000 additional service units, 49 zonal offices across India as of 30 March 2017. Outside India, it has two offices in Singapore and Hong Kong. The corporate office of UCO bank is on BTM Sarani, Kolkata. Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla, an influential industrialist, got the idea of establishing a commercial bank with the Indian capital during the Quit India movement of 1942, and as a result, the United Commercial Bank Limited was incorporated. The bank was started in Kolkata with an issued capital of ?2 crores and a paid-up capital of ?1 crore. The Board of Directors of UCO Bank included notable personalities of India alongside Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla as its chairman. The bank opened 14 branches simultaneously across India. Presently Mr.Ravi Krishan Takkar is the chairman and MD of UCO Bank.
