Muzaffarpur is a sub-metropolitan city in the Indian state of Bihar. The fourth most populous city in the state, Muzaffarpur is located in the eponymous district of the Tirhut region in Bihar. The city is famous for its litchis and is often referred to as the Lychee Kingdom. The litchis are known for their excellent taste, aroma and quality and are cultivated in two varieties known as Shahi and China.
