On 28 March 2011, the 10th office was opened in Fremont, California. In 1989, an offshore bank established by the SBI, SBI International (Mauritius) Ltd which later merged with the Indian Ocean International Bank. The Indian Ocean International Bank has been doing retail banking business in Mauritius since 1979.
